Stevens Point, WI (June 14, 2023) - Worzalla, an employee-owned book printer specializing in printing high-quality children’s books, cookbooks, and hardcover bestsellers, supported Prime Water Anglers (PWA) and the 2023 Kids Fishing Clinic. The 2-day clinic educated youth on the fundamentals of fishing, promoted environmental awareness and encouraged exploration of the outdoors.

“The Kids Fishing Clinic allows community youth to explore the outdoors, learn new skills, make social connections and practice patience and perseverance,” said Brianne Petruzalek, Vice President of Human Resources at Worzalla. “In supporting the Prime Water Anglers event geared at youth, Worzalla hopes the experience will build fun memories as we kick off the Summer season.”

The hands-on fishing portion of the clinic was Wednesday, June 7, 5-8 p.m. at Bukolt Park Boat Launch. Before getting on the water, participants received classroom instruction to learn the basics of fishing including baiting, casting, fishing and boating safety, how to ID fish, and how to land a fish. The clinic was led by DNR-certified instructors who are members of PWA. Drinks and snacks were provided during the clinic.

“This program has been in place since 2000 and thanks to help from local organizations the clinic has been able to continue to promote fishing as a recreational activity for youth and raise awareness about angling,” said Jeff Rautio, President of Prime Water Anglers. “PWA’s dedicated group of volunteers looks forward to another summer of getting the community together for fun in the outdoors.”

The Prime Water Anglers is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that promotes the sport of fishing through educational, competitive, and social events. The organization holds monthly meetings and membership is open to anyone in the Stevens Point area community. More information can be found on the PWA website.

Worzalla donated foldable camping chairs for each child to take home and $1,000 to the Prime Water Anglers to support events like the Kids Fishing Clinic. Worzalla’s donation is just one of many donations and initiatives launched to support the local Stevens Point community. Worzalla’s extensive community outreach includes donating books to libraries and schools, sponsoring literacy and learning events, participating in community-wide fundraisers and charity events, and printing various popular children’s books including the popular Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
