Worzalla Celebrates World Book Day by Donating 250 Books to Local School

Internationally celebrated day promotes literacy and the joy of reading

In observance of World Book Day on April 23, Worzalla, an employee-owned printing company specializing in high-quality custom products including children’s books, is donating 250 books to area elementary schools. Donation recipients include the Stevens Point Area School District’s nine elementary schools and the Pacelli Catholic Elementary Schools.

“Our mission is to deliver quality books to the world,” said Jim Fetherston, President and CEO of Worzalla. “Throughout Worzalla’s 125 years, the company has been incredibly committed to the central Wisconsin community. On behalf of all our employees who work to create these books, we are pleased to spread the joy of reading through this book donation for World Book Day.”

Each of the eleven elementary schools will receive a supply of newly-printed children’s books that came directly from Worzalla’s manufacturing floor. The books are being donated to each of the school’s libraries so that all of the students may enjoy them.

In a recent study by researchers at the University of Michigan that was published in the journal Pediatrics, reading print books generated more dialogue between the parent and child, emphasizing the importance of print books in encouraging literacy among children.

Worzalla’s several hundred employees manufacture millions of children’s books, lifestyle books, and cookbooks that are sold in bookstores and through online retailers across the country. For more information, visit worzalla.com or follow Worzalla on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
