Community

Highway-2-2.jpg
Focusing on our people and the people
in our community.

We are proud to invest in the communities in which we live by supporting many non-profit partners and community initiatives. We encourage our team members to become involved in their communities, lending their voluntary support to programs that positively impact the quality of life within these communities.

In addition to an annual corporate giving campaign, our PeopleConnect Crew, a cross-functional team of employee owners devoted to focusing on our people and the people of our community, plans and coordinates activities for our team members to connect within the Worzalla community as well as opportunities for team members to offer their time, services, and financial assistance to non-profit partners and initiatives to positively impact the communities in which we live.

Caught You At Your Best - PTO Winner

In 2022, our employee owners generously donated their time, talent, and resources in many ways. The PeopleConnect Crew organized events such as:

  • Disaster Relief for Kentucky Tornado Victims

  • Read Across America Day - Filled little free libraries throughout our community

  • Reel It In For Reading Fishing Contest - $1,500 donated to Portage County Literacy Council

  • Dive Into Reading Summer Contest for children

  • Partnered with the Portage County Library on the Lit Loot reading program

  • Adopt-a-Highway - Kept our community clean by picking up trash along our adopted highway

  • Project Fresh Start - Raised over 600 pounds of school supplies

  • United Way Campaign - Donated over $50,000

  • Festival Foods Turkey Trot - Benefited the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club

  • The Giving Tree - Delivered donations for Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, and a handful of local families in need

These events raised many monetary, food, and gift donations for our in-need community members and community partners including The Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, Boys & Girls Club, United Way, The Portage County Literacy Council, CAP Services Family Crisis Center, and The Humane Society of Portage County. #worzallaproud
