Stevens Point, Wisconsin (August 10, 2022) – Worzalla, an employee-owned printing company specializing in high-quality children’s books, cookbooks, and hardcover best sellers, is hosting a summer reading contest "Dive Into Reading This Summer" to encourage the community to read. Community members could enter the contest by sharing how many books they reading during the month, and they'd be entered into a drawing to win prizes. This month's winner eleven-year-old Emme Rubo read five books including "Corrine" from the American Girl series, "The Clique" and her favorite, "Dear America A Picture of Freedom".

“During the summer months, 'brain drain', or losing all the academic lessons over the corse of the school year, is very common in young students," said Brianne Petruzalek, Vice President of Human Resources at Worzalla. "Reading is a great way to prevent brain dran, and since Worzalla prints many children's book titles, it only makes sense we do what we can to encourage kids to pick up a few books this summer."

Worzalla is also worked with Portage County Public Library to support their summer reading programs with the goal of inspiring the community to reach their summer reading goals. Worzalla donated 500 children's books for the Library to use as summer reading rewards and also donated 500 bags that the Library used for their Lit Loot program. The Portage County Public Library's full roster of programming can be found at pocolibrary.org/youth-family-resources.

Children aged 5-17 can participate in both summer reading programs this summer. Through Worzalla's contest, participants are invited to read as many books in a month as they can, and each book will count as an entry to win a basket of books. On the last day of each month, with adult permission and assistance, local readers can send an email to readmore@worzalla.com with the list of books that were read during the month with the reader's name, age, and photo of the reader with their favorite book from the month. August is the last month to participate in this year's contest. More information and contest rules are available at Worzalla.com.
